The Five County Association of Governments is currently working with partners throughout the region to update the Southwest Utah Multi-Jurisdiction Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan. This Plan update will be developed over the next 12-18 months(July 2015-December 2016). We have created this page to keep the Planning Team, Elected and Appointed Officials, and the General Public in the southwest region of Utah up to date on the planning process. The purpose of the Hazard Mitigation Plan is to reduce potential losses from future disasters by identifying hazards that impact our communities (i.e. flooding, wildfires, landslides) and actions to reduce or eliminate potential losses from those hazards. The Plan is a FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) requirement for local jurisdictions to access federal hazard mitigation assistance.
PLEASE SEE THE 2016 DRAFT PLAN PAGE FOR THE REVISED FINAL DRAFT OF THE PLAN AS RE-SUBMITTED TO F.E.M.A. FOR THIER RE-REVIEW AND FINAL APPROVAL PRIOR TO THE PLAN BEING PROMULGATED TO PARTICIPATING ENTITIES IN SOUTHWESTERN UTAH FOR ADOPTION BY RESOLUTION OF EACH JURISDICTION’S GOVERNING BODY.
