Hazard mitigation is a long term strategy, with actions that may require more than the 5-year time frame set by the plan. Tracking progress over several iterations of plan updates shows the changes in available data, changes in community capabilities, and presents the opportunity for long term monitoring of completed projects.
The 2011 iteration of The Five County Association of Governments Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan expired in 2016. This plan was adopted by the vast majority of cities, counties, and towns in the region in the region.
